Z -- FY98 BRACON, P-124T, EXTEND STEAM LINE USNS MERCY AT PIER 5002, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA SOL N68711-97-B-8223 DUE 032298 POC Steven Miliner/Contract Specialist, 619-532-3016, Dorothy Lestage/Contracting Officer, 619-532-1301 PRESOLICITATION OF WORK -- The work includes construction of a new 6-inch to 4-inch diameter insulated steam line and 1-1/2 inch diameter condensate return line from existing manhole No. 2 at Pier No. 5000 to the new steam riser connection on Pier No. 5002 and a 1-1/2 inch diameter condensate collecting system which wastes to the sewer, including a new steam sampling, flow processing, and temperature monitoring station and incidental related earthwork, concrete, metal, sealant, and painting work. -- This is a public bid opening. -- The estimated cost is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. -- Firm Fixed Price Contract. -- Contract duration is approximately 165 calendar days. -- Proposals will be considered from all responsible sources. -- This project is unrestricted. -- The Standard Industrial Code is 1623 and the annual size is $17 million. It is recommended the subcontracting goals reflect a minimum goal of 5% for Small Disadvantaged Business Subcontracting effort.
