Carrier Model no. 90HC06004 (R-134A) marine air conditioning plant with
a minimum cooling capacity of 30 tons. System shall use HFC-134A
(1,1,1,2-tetrafluoro ethane) refrigerant. The major components of the
plant are as follows: Compressor -- reciprocating type, to be equipped
with capacity control system, pressure relief valve and remote oil
pressure switch; Compressor through a flexible coupling; Receiver --
cylindrical shell with dished heads at both ends, refrigerant
connections and a liquid level indicator; Condensor -- multipass shell
and finned tube type with cooling water flowing through the tubes;
Water chiller -- shell and tube direct expansion type; Thermal
expansion valve -- external equalizer type; Water regulating valve --
automatically control the flow of sea water through the condensor;
Strainer; Dehydrator; and Heat exchanger. The plant shall supply a
chilled water system. All equipment shall be 440 volt, 3 phase, 60
Hertz. Quantity 2 each. Contractor's engineering drawing and technical
manuals. Quantity 2 each. Delivery is due within 112 calendar days
from date of contract award -- FOB Destination to U. S. Coast Guard
Engineering Logistics Center, Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. The
above-referenced marine air conditioning plant model was custom-built
to meet U. S. Coast Guard requirements for the 225' WLB Buoy Tenders.
It is the only system that is compliant with current environmental law
and regulation which is supportable within the Coast Guard's supply
system. It is the government's belief that only Carrier or its
authorized distributors can provide the said marine air conditioning
plant. No specifications or drawings are available. Concerns that bid
on this soliciation must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet
the requirements. Detailed data by which to evaluate the potential
bidder's capabilities shall be submitted with the bid. ATTENTION:

The Department of Transportation (DOT),Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit
to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
