This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6,as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This ancouncement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation 1425-98-SQ-30-00016 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-01. This solicitation is issued under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside (100%). Standard Industrial Classification is 5049 and the Business Size Standard is 100 employees. The Bureau of Reclamation has a firm fixed price requirement for the following item: Portable explosives detector; detects vapor from virtually all explosives, including TNT, NG, RDX, PETN, EGDN, DNT and HMX. The detection limit for RDX is 30 picograms or less, automatic internal calibration. Microprocessor controlled, display identifies detected substance to the operator with visual and audible alarms upon detection. Totally portable weighing 9 lbs or less, with batteries available for up to 6 hours and uptional battery charger. Delivary will be FOB Destination to Bureau of Reclamation, Hoover Dam warehouse, Highway 93, Boulder City, Nevada 89005.
