Bentley, Contracting Officer, SMDC-CM-CN, (205)955-1187 The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) intends to enter into a competitive contract for three (3) years (Basic) and two (2) one-year options for the facilities and maintenance operations at the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility (HELSTF) located at White Sands Missile Range (WMSR), New Mexico. The Government seeks parties interested in performing facility operations and maintenance (O&M) starting in December 1998. HELSTF is a remotely located facility, 25 miles from WSMR proper, performing it's own general base operations functions such as HVAC, electrical, water supply, sewage treatment, building and grounds maintenance, supply operations (a local area computer network) and emergency medical. Additionally, HELSTF O&M includes a variety of chemical lasers and their associated control systems, optics cooling water systems and high pressure steam systems. (A successful contractor will provide test administration including design and implementation of test programs, and theacquisition of data and other customer support/liaison functions).
