DESC.: The CECOM Acquisition Center, Fort Monmouth, NJ intends to procure,under Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract,atfirm-fixedprices, a supply of the BA-5347 Lithium Manganese Dioxide (LiMnO2) Battery. This battery isnot currently in the Government's inventory and has no NSN as yet. It will replace BA-1547 Mercury Battery, NSN 6135-01-430-3119. The proposed contract will be for one year with two option years to follow. The Government guarantees an initial order of 3,000 each batteries as the sole guarantee of the contract and estimates a requirement of 10,000 each for the base year. The option years will carry no guarantees but the Government estimates the need for 10,000 each in both of the option years as well. The overall contract shall not exceed forty-five thousand each batteries. MIL-PRF-49471 under slash sheet l5 shall pertain. Eighteen Bid Sample batteries shall be required with the proposal. A First Article Test effort will be required under the contract. Source selection shall be under Best Value negotiation procedures with award made to the offeror whose proposal provides the best overall value to the Government. This acquisition is a 100% Set Aside for Small Business Concerns. Offers from large businesses cannot be accepted. The solicitation shall be issued on or about 20 February, 1998 and the RFP will be available on the CECOM Acquisition Center World Wide Web at: http://acbop.monmouth.army.mil No paper copy of the RFP will be issued. Draft documents are now accessible on the Business Opportunity Page and comments are welcomed.
