C -- INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT FOR STRATEGIC BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINE DISMANTLEMENT AT NERPA SHIP REPAIR YARD POC Damon Q. McClure, Negotiator, (703) 325-1198, Billy G. Burks, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5021 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) intends to issue a sole source contract to the Nerpa Ship Repair yard. DSWA has a requirement for infrastructure improvement which is needed for submarine dismantlement. The effort to be performed includes installation of an oxygen and propane distribution system, manufacture of 80 containers for scrap metal, and installation of a low pressure air distribution system. DSWA believes that the Nerpa Ship Repair Yard is the only source possessing the necessary existing information, resources, and expertise to meet this program requirement within the time required by DSWA. In addition, this is a predominantly "closed" shipyard in Russia. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this requirement. See Note 22.
