COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 10,1998 PSA#2029DEVELOPMENTS AT NIST Researchers in the Chemical Science and Technology
Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology have
developed a new technology, Supported Biological Membranc Hybrid, NIST
Docket Number 97-022. The invention comprises a method for fabricating
biomimetic surfaces from intact cell membranes. A monolayer of
alkanethiol on gold is covered by a second layer derived from the
components of erythrocyte membranes. Any parties interested in the
further development or licensing of the technology described above may
write to:Terry Lynch, Licensing and CRADA Officer, National Institute
