Slana (Site Code W31XNJ) Work consists of constructing a 2,530 sq. meter 2 story squadron operations facility and a 288 sq. meter aircraft maintenance unit (AMU) addition with supporting fire sprinkler systems. HVAC, hydraulic elevator, communication wiring, site work & utilities. The squad ops. facility will be a steel framed structure with composite floor framing. The standing seam metal roof will be conventionally framed with joists bearing on ridge beams. Exterior walls will consist of split face CMU on an inner wythe structural CMU. Interiors consist of wall paper on sheet rock, tile, bathrooms, carpet and dropped ceilings. The project is sited adjacent to an active flightline. Site work includes asphalt paving, concrete curb & gutters, landscaping & irrigation system, area lighting, and fencing. The AMU addition to an existing hangar will be a pre-engineered metal building. Mechanical ventilation and a Class B vault are required. Demolition of an existing building & asbestos removal is required. Construction phasing will also be required. Bid documents are available on or about 4 Mar 1998.
