E-MAIL: NONE, NONE. The Naval Media Center is currently in the process
of seeking sources that have the capability to provide a one (1) year
subscription /rental service of medical audiovisual tape information
programs. This library rental service should offer at least 2,000
titles on continuing medical education for physicians, nurses, nursing
assistants, ancillary health workers, allied health professionals,
staff and patient education and health/wellness counseling. This must
also offer continuing education (CE) self paced and self-contained
modules for nurses which will enable them to receive CNE credit. These
credits are necessary for professional update requirements of the
Joint Commission for Accreditation of Hospital Organizations (JCAHO).
The contractor shall continually add new programs and updates thereby
providing the most current medical information available. This service
shall be under the control of the Staff Education Training Department
and Visual Information Library of each Navy Medical Department
activity designated to receive this service. The Government
specifically encourages and invites small businesses and 8(a)
contractors to submit their capabilities and qualifications. A firm is
considered to be a small business for this acquisition if its average
annual receipts, including any affiliates, for the preceding three (3)
years equate to 21.5 million or less. The applicable SIC Code for this
type of effort is 7812. This information will be reviewed and used to
determine if competitive opportunities exist. The Government will use
the information obtained from this notice to understand the
capabilities of the market place. No solicitation package exists at
this time. No award will be made from any responses to this synopsis.
All interested parties should provide, at no additional cost to the
Government, a full descriptive literature demonstrating their
capabilities or any catalogs, brochures that delineates their firms
qualification to supply the above services. Any interested sources are
