NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a study entitled "Techniques for Implementation of Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE)of Aerospace Components." This study is being procured under the University Research Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) Program with the university community within the United States. The purpose of this study is to determine the limits and conditions under which NDE can be used to assess the quality of aerospace hardware. Research will be at MSFC and the selected contractor's facility with a period of performance of 12 months. Quotations will be evaluated using best value criteria stipulated in the BOA. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The SIC Code and Size Standard are 8733 and $5M, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DOC9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 8-1-8-EH-B7798 is on or about February 6, 1998 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about February 17, 1998. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
