N68936-98-R-0076 due 03/03/98. This will be a 100% Small Business
set-aside under SIC code 8731, size standard 1500 employees. Top secret
facility clearance required/no foreign. NAWCWPNS is seeking sources
with capabilities in design, development, test and evaluation
engineering for computer systems embedded within Naval tactical
aircraft, airborne weapon systems, related support equipment and the
ground-based test laboratories / simulators/ trainers incorporating
simulations of such systems. Navy airborne attack weapons systems
expected to require support at China Lake include the F/A-18, AV-8B and
AH-1 and EP-3/S-3. WSSA support services include but are not limited to
the following: RDT&E system engineering & integration of Navy airborne
weapons, avionics, sensors and system hardware & software including
system research & development & flight test procedures & support;
development, upgrade operation & maintenance of software simulation &
system test laboratories (including upgrades of related
trainers/simulators); software engineering/development for aircraft
computers, avionics, sensors weapons systems and mission and system
support equipment (including software quality assurance, configuration
management and verification and validation testing); aircraft test
instrumentation and telemetry systems design development,installation,
maintenance, service, setup, and operation (including related aircraft
modification and ground-based telemetry systems). The Naval Air Warfare
Center Weapons Division China Lake, CA,(NAWCWPNS)intends to contract
for the Weapons System Support Activity (WSSA) follow-on to contract
N68936-96-D-0009. NAWCWPNS intends to issue a draft Request for
Proposal on or about SEP 1998, with an intended award date 31 JAN 2000,
contract start date of 1 APR 2000. Award is anticipated to be to a
single awardee; multiple awards are not anticipated.The follow-on is
anticipated to be a 5year IDIQ CPAF task order contract including any
options. The current contract has approximately 1,900,000 manhours and
the follow-on is expected to be of similar size over a 5 year period
of performance, although DOD downsizing may effect the actual manhours
contracted. Parties interested should express their interest in
