The U.S. Bureau of the Census has a requirement to open between 500-550 remote offices to support data collection operations. There is an immediate need to open approximately 130 of these offices for early operations on or about October 1998. The Bureau of the Census is looking for a contractor to assist the Bureau in establishing the automation infrastructure of these offices. Automation support will include, but will not be limited to, the acquisition, installation, testing, and maintenance of required hardware, software, and telecommunications; and full systems integration support commencing on or about June 1998. The Bureau anticipates conducting this acquisition as a full and open competition. Relevant information as well as issuance of the solicitation shall be provided only through the use of the Internet. The solicitation is anticipated to be released on or about the time period from February 27, 1998 through March 16, 1998.
