J -- SMALL MARINE CRAFT ENGINE OVERHAUL SOL N00600-98-R-1273 DUE 030698 POC Colleen Fannin, Code 02W1.2D (202)685-1276 Fax: (202)433-9569 The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Detachment Washington intends to procure services for marine engine overhaul for delivery to the US Naval Academy Small Craft Repair Department in Annapolis, Maryland. The two types of engines for overhaul are the Detroit Diesel 3-71N engine and the Detroit Diesel 12V-71N engine. The Contractor shall employ only Detroit Diesel factory trained certified technicians for engine disassembly, inspection, reassembly and testing, for the contract period. Commercial warranty for defects in workmanship shall be for a minimum of 12 months; for Detroit Diesel parts a mimumum of 6 months and for defects in Detroit Diesel Reliabilty, a minimum of 12 months. All warranties shall begin at post-installation sea trial. The contract period is for a base period and four one year options. A minimum of 36 engines are anticipated for overhaul for the contract period inclusive of options. An IDIQ firm fixed price contract will be awarded. SEE NOTE (1)*****. (0042)
