The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has a requirement for computer
programming services and data processing services related to
hydrometeorological research being performed by scientists in
Reclamation's River Systems and Meteorology Group. Total contracting
service requirements may vary with the individual task orders issued
during a given year but are expected to approximate 1500 hours per
year. This requirement is expected to continue for a 3 year period.
Special emphasis will be placed on developing and testing of software
needed for development of NEXRAD radar precipitation algorithms, and
processing of large amounts of digital data from NEXRAD radars.
However, dealing with various other meteorological information also
requires programming and data processing services. FORTRAN is the
standard programming language used in NEXRAD precipitation algorithms,
and will be the most common language used in this work. Programming in
other languages of similar complexity (e.g. C, UNIX Script) may
sometimes be appropriate. (0042) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0083 19980213\R-0009.SOL)
