The construction consists of repairs, alterations, and renovations to the 85,000 SF commissary (grocery store) facility at Fairchild AFB WA, located near Spokane. The facility will remain in operation and open to customers throughout the construction period, requiring careful phasing of the work and protection of customers and products from damage or degradation from construction operations. The work includes but is not limited to replacing store display fixtures, refrigerated display cases and refrigeration systems. Automatic entry/exit will be replaced. The interior of the store is to be extensively remodeled, creating additional sales space from existing warehouse space, replacing interior floor-ceiling-and-wall finishes, lighting, signage, and decor in the sales area. The air conditioning systems are to be upgraded. Existing dock levelers and warehouse doors will be replaced. The existing fire protection sprinkler and alarm systems, telephone system, and PA/background music system will be altered to suit the new work. Exterior work includes enclosing loading docks and ramps. The magnitude of construction is between $1 million and $5 million.
