procure is an Engine Mod Kit consisting of a two cycle gas engine,
which is source controlled to AMW Cayuna Engine Company, with a
mounting frame and transformer. An additional quantity of the source
controlled engine, PN 5-45-5295, will also be procured. Requirements
are 380 each M17 Engine Mod Kit and 178 each additional Engines. For
use on the M17 Lightweight Decontamination System. This solicitation is
restricted to AMW Cuyuna Engine Co., 8 Schein Loop, Beaufort, SC 29902.
Offers from concerns other than the above are not solicited. FOB is
Origin for Engine Mod Kits and Destination for Engines. Estimated issue
date is 2 Mar 98. This solicitation will be issued electronically in
accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore
hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may
download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following
address via the internet:
http://www-acala1.ria.army.mil/ACALA/AAIS/AAIS.htm. CAUTION: This
solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments
thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is
in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore
incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above
internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be
issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them
prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may
render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection
of same. A License Agreement between Engineered Air Systems, Karl H.
Hoie and Co. and the U.S. requires the items procured to be
manufactured in the United States, U.S. territories and Canada. The
successful offeror under this solicitation agrees to manufacture the
items, being procured under this contract, within the US. All or a part
of this action is an unfunded FY98 requirement. Contractor's are hereby
notified of the following requirement: In order to receive the
technical data package, all contractors are required to execute a
Nondisclosure Agreement binding contractors to the terms and conditions
of the agreement. Copies of the Nondisclosure Agreement shall be
requested from the following address: Director, ACALA, ATTN:
AMSTA-AC-PCH-A/Cindy Ahrens, Rock Island, IL 61299-7630. The
Nondisclosure Agreement must be signed by an official authorized to
legally bind the company. Upon execution of the Nondisclosure
Agreement, return an original copy, certified mail to the above
address. Nondisclosure statements will be available prior to the
issuance of the solicitation and contractors are encouraged to request
and complete the above requirement as soon as possible. Note 26
