The objectives of this contract are to: (1)establish the state of
knowledge regarding wind-induced vibration of stay cables on long-span
bridges; (2) to synthesize all information available on known problems
with in-service bridges and effectiveness of countermeasures; and (3)to
develop guidelines for wind-resistent design of new cable systems and
procedures for implementation of countermeasures to stabilize
in-service cables. -- NOTE: Submit written requests for copies of the
solicitation to the address indicated above and include two (2)
self-addressed gummed labels. No telephone, fax or e-mail requests will
be accepted. All RFP's will be mailed in 3 1/2" diskette, WordPerfect
6.1 format, to offerors who send in written requests. Amendments, if
any, will be mailed either in hardcopy or diskette format. The RFP and
its forms/attachments are also available for downloading on our
