CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING LABORATORY ACCREDITATION This notice applies to construction materials testing laboratories when performing work on construction contracts for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). Laboratories engaged in testing of construction materials. (ASTM E 329) b. Laboratories engaged in testing of concrete and concrete aggregates. (ASTM C 1077) c. Laboratories engaged in testing of bituminous paving materials. (ASTM D 3666) d. Laboratories engaged in testing of soil and rock, as used in engineering design and construciton. (ASTM D 3740) e. Laboratories engaged in inspection and testing of steel, stainless steel, and related alloys. (ASTM A 880) f. Laboratories engaged in nondestructive testing (NDT). (ASTM E 543) Effective 1 December 1999, NAVFAC Guide Spec (NFGS) 01450, Quality Control, will be revised to require construction materials testing laboratories performing work for NAVFAC construction contracts to be accredited by one of the laboratory accreditation authorities.
