A -- LABORATORY AND ANALYTICAL SUPPORT FOR CHEMICAL WEAPONS VERIFICATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT SOL DNA001-95-C-0197 POC Jennifer Bertuna, Negotiator, (703) 325-9368, Edward L. Archer, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5028 This effort is a sole source modification to a contract with IIT Research Institute (IITRI). This modification will not add new work or more money. Rather, it will delete tasks 3.3, Analytical Data Collection Studies; 3.10 Option V, Additional Agent Degradation Studies as in Subtask 3.1; and 3.11 Option VI, Additional Experiments to Acquire Data on Selected Physical Properties of Additional Selected Chemicals. In addition, this modification will convert Options I, III, and VII into requirement tasks, or ordering items, to allow the Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) to execute these tasks more than once, as needed. This modification allows DSWA the flexibility to respond to changes in the focus of analytical work being conducted by IITRI in support of the Chemical Biological Arms Control Program. It is anticipated that a follow-on contract will be competed in FY98 for analytical support in on-site sampling and analysis. However, it is not in the Government's best interest to compete these changes because the work is already included in the contract and IITRI is uniquely equipped with the facilities, instruments, information, previously approved test plans, and established protocols necessary to complete this work.
