Request for Offers for rehabilitation and modification of fire alarm
systems in the Administrative, Logistics, and Western Aeronautical Test
Range (WATR) areas of the Dryden Flight Research Center. BASE BID ITEM:
Involves the installation of conduit, wiring, initiation/annuciation
devices, Government Furnished (GFE) fire alarm control panels (FACP)
and FACP programming for a complete and usable fire alarm sytem in
various office buildings and warehouses. BID OPTION NO. 1: Contractor
will supply FACPs and addressable devices. BID OPTION NO. 2: Involves
the addition of a communications system. The order of magnitude for the
procurement is $500,000 to $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed
within 365 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is
a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. This procurement is part
of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC
Code and small business size standard for this procurement is 1799 and
$7.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the
IFB/RFO is on or about March 2, 1998 with an anticipated offer closing
date of on or about April 1, 1998. The firm date for receipt of bids
or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. Specification and Drawings

at (805) 258-2904. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid
which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been
appointed -- See Internet Note "B". Prospective offerors shall notify
this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror's
