enter into a sole source contract with Miko Kiosks, 156 5TH Avenue,
Suite 1123, New York, NY 10010, under authority of FAR 6.302 as it is
believed that Miko Kiosks is the only manufacturer who produces the
hardware that meets the Governments requirements for the system
functions. The requirement is a state of the market flat screen
technology PC based Public Information Kiosks, stream line design, thin
screen depth, casing sturdy enough to function in public access
environment, sleek in appearance, touch screen, interactive
multi-language, multimedia (video and music capable) unit that is
capable of tying into our various Web homepages. Units must have
upgradable technology platforms based Pentium capable architecture;
large flat screen display technology; touch screen sensitivity;
lightweight, portable and have a minimal footprint specifications
allowing for easy movement throughout the Center; have smart, debit and
credit card enabled functions; attachable same location printer
capability; internal speakers; extensive networking capabilities making
connections to existing LAN easy; and e-commerce features via Internet
access. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts intends to
issue a firm fixed price, commercial item, requirements contract, with
one base year and 2 option years to acquire an estimated 15 Kiosks
(estimated 8, 5, 2 respectively). This acquisition is using the
Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Questions may be referred to the POC

honored). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive
proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received
within 20 days after date of publication of this synopsis. Any
prospective Offerors who feel that they have comparable commercial
systems shall submit a proposal which includes technical description,
pricing (including quantity discounts), delivery lead-time, and past
performance references. Multiple proposals for alternate items are
allowed. All proposals must be written and submitted to the POC stated
above by 3:00 PM on March 9, 1998. All proposals must state that the
vendor is not currently on the Consolidated List of Debarred, Suspended
and Ineligible contractors or otherwise ineligible to receive
Government Contracts. Any proposals shall be evaluated on technical,
qualification, price, delivery time, and past performance. Incorporated
are provisions and FAR clauses that apply: the provision at 52.212-1,
Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items (Jun 1997); the provision at
52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items (Oct 1997); the provision at
52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items
(Jan 1997) shall be submitted with its offer; the clause at 52.212-4,
Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items (May 1997); and the
clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement
Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items (Aug 1996), Items (a)(2),
(b)(6), (b)(7), (b)(8), (b)(9), (b)(10), (b)(13) (b)(15),
(e)(1),(e)(2),(e)(3) applies to this acquisition, No additional FAR
