SOL DTFH61-98-Q-00051 DUE 030498 POC Stephanie D. Parker, Contract
Specialist, HAM-40G, (202)366-6014 The Federal Highway Administration
(FHWA)plans to negotiate with Dynatech Engineering to develop detailed
guidelines for initiating and maintaining a crash test laboratory
accreditation system in the United States. This study consists of the
following: conducting a literature review, developing draft guidelines,
presenting guidelines at a conference, revising the guidelines as
necessary to consider review comments and preparing a reproducible copy
of the guidelines. The guidelines are needed for laboratory
accreditation so that the results of crash tests conducted by U.S. test
houses will be accepted by foreign governments. In addition, accredited
test houses have to follow strict quality control procedures in
conducting crash tests and preparing test reports. Dynatech Engineering
is uniquely qualified to perform this work because they have in-depth
knowledge and understanding of crash testing, instrumentation, etc.
that is necessary to complete this study within a very limited time
frame. They are also international experts in the field of crash
testing roadside safety hardware. This is a Simplified Acquisition and
the anticipated award date is 03/04/98. (0048) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0012 19980219\A-0012.SOL)
