RECREATION SITE WITHIN LAKE ROOSEVELT NATIONAL RECREATION AREA POC
Teresa Jackson. The National Park Service will be releasing a
concession Prospectus authorizing continued operation of a snack bar
facility at Spring Canyon (day use recreation site) within Lake
Roosevelt National Recreation Area. This is a modest operation
accommodating visitors using the beach and swimming area with fast
food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverage services This seasonal
operation serves visitors 3 months out of the year from Memorial Day
(end of May) through Labor Day (first of September). The average
visitation to the site is about 103,000 during the operating season.
The annual gross receipts average between $9,000.00 to $14,000.00. The
new permit will be for four (4) years and eleven (11) months. The
operator will be required to provide the all the appliances necessary
to conduct the proposed business. There is an existing concessioner
which has operated satisfactorily under the existing permit and has a
right of preference in renewal. The cost for purchasing a Prospectus is
$30.00. Parties interested in obtaining a copy should send a check (NO
