for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a requirement for
laboratory services to perform RT-PCR to detect and characterize
endogenous retroviral p15E sequences and retroviral pol sequences in
RNA extracted from patient and control samples. Work to be completed by
September 30, 1998. Request for quotations (RFQ) will be issued
approximately February 23, 1998, to The Mount Sinai Medical Group, New
York, NY, on a sole source basis. The Mount Sinai Medical Group is the
only known source capable of providing the requirement to prepare and
characterize primers for RT-PCR assays, prepare cDNA from RNA samples,
perform RT-PCR for p15E and pol on samples using assays demonstrating
absence of DNA carryover and ability to amplify sample. Capability
statements showing capacity and technical expertise to perform the work
may be submitted. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be accepted.
