COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 19,1998 PSA#2035S -- UP-FRONT FILTER The Process Analysis and Improvement Group (PAIG)
of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will host an industry
briefing on the current plan to develop an Up-Front Filter (UFF) for
NAVSEA's process for decision making changes to equipment, systems,
computer programs, and ships and installations. The UFF will be a
business process supported by enabling technologies that evalutes the
costs and benefits of proposed changes and in the administrative and
technical costs associated with changes. The purpose of this briefing
is to obtain input from industry for NAVSEA in determining the criteria
for the UFF to ensure optimum cost, cycle time and return on investment
benefits to the Navy. This industry briefing will occur at 9:00AM on 09
March 1998 in the Ingalls Shipbuilding Office, 2711 Jefferson Davis
