The work to be performed under this project shall consist of providing the services, labor, equipment and material to machine seven (7) cylindrical graphite susceptors for the Hypersonic Tunnel Facility, Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, Ohio. The Government will provide as government furnished property seven (7) solid cylindrical, rough-cut pieces of UCAR Carbon Company's PGX grade graphite (approximately 75" in diameter, 24-3/4" high, 4,500 pounds each) to be machined into the susceptors. The finished susceptors shall be 71.37 inches in diameter, roughly 24-1/4" high, and shall have 1,945 3/4 inch or 1/2" diameter holes drilled axially through the block. The holes shall have a tolerance of +/- .010 inches and the maximum hole runout through the 24-1/4" dimension shall not exceed .030 inches. In addition, option(s) to furnish services to repair (machine) two (2) existing PGX graphite susceptors having dimensions similar to those stated above. Repairs shall include milling and turning of existing pieces. Plus options for machining of additional rough -- cut pieces. The magnitude of the construction project is estimated at BETWEEN $100,000. The proposed solicitation is a 100% Labor Surplus Area Set-Aside. A Fixed Price Contract is contemplated. This is an unrestricted procurement.
