The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue on a sole-source basis under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures an order with Cayenne Software, Inc., of Burlington, Massachusetts for the continued annual maintenance and support on the following proprietary Cayenne software products currently utilized at SSA in Baltimore, Maryland: Groundworks, Capture for COBOL, DBA for DB2, SharedWorkBench (Server and Client), Generator for Oracle, and PowerBuilder, and the Terrain products for Windows and OS/2. To the Government's knowledge, Cayenne Software, Inc. is the only known source which can provide the required maintenance and support, as the software is proprietary to Cayenne Software, and maintenance and support is not available through dealers or other third parties. This is not a request for quotations nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto shall not be honored or acknowledged. Any responsible firm that feels it has the capability to provide this annual software maintenance and support to SSA may write to the referenced contracting officer. All responses must be received within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice. Respondents should refer to Cayenne98-JCE. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. If no affirmative written responses are received within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice to the effect that a comparable source exists, an order will be placed with Cayenne Software, Inc. for the requirements stated above.
