to award a sole source purchase order with Gensyn Corporation,
Cambridge, Massachusetts as a continuation of effort under Contract No.
DAAB07-97-C-6037 and Purchase Order No. DAAB07-98-P-6030 to continue
development of a fully integrated collection of computer-based model
which simulates the Army Logistics business processes and their
interaction with military and commercial communications, ADP, financial
and transportation systems. Individual system modules will address
major Logistics processes such as Class IX supply support from
wholesale level to divisional units. This model shall be capable of
providing a base tool for decision making and running excursions on
conceptual changes in the process of supplying materiel to units in
garrison as well as receiving materiel returns items. This model will
also incorporate data into the model so that the model is able to run
two initial excursions and shall be capable of being interfaced to the
"as is" model developed for the Army Logistics Rock Drill. This effort
will be compatible with and make optimum use of work already completed
by the Artificial Intelligence Center (AIC) and the Combined Arms
Support Command's (CASCOM) Simulation of Logistics Systems (SIMULOGS)
program using a Team Development Approach under the direction of LIA.
Gensym will provide technical support in the development of the
Logistics Process Development and Prototyping (LPDP) system. The LPDP
program will be capable of interfacing with and using data from the
SIMULOGS program. All work is to be performed under an anticipated
fixed price purchase order. The period of performance will be for
forty-five (45) days. Award will be made IAW Simplified Acquisition
