Air Force Space Command is contemplating a contract for the general libraries located at Vandenberg AFB California, Malmstrom AFB Montana, F.E. Warren AFB Wyoming, Peterson AFB Colorado and Patrick AFB Florida. This survey is intended to determine the level of interest and capability to provide this service. This is not a commitment by the Air Force to subsequently pursue contracting for this service. The contractor will be responsible for administering small to medium size, fully automated libraries. These libraries serve populations ranging from 17,000 to 30,000. The populations are composed of active duty and retired military personnel and their families, Department of Defense civilians, and approved contractors. Their circulation's average from 54,000 to 200,000 items/year. The library collections range from 39,000 to 64,000 books, periodicals, audiovisuals, CD-ROMs, software, microforms, and technical reports.
