aadams@peacecorps.gov. Peace Corps plans to award a requirements
contract for a facility that has lodging and conference room for
training sessions. The Contractor's facility must: 1) Be within the
District of Columbia in the area bounded by 27th St., N.W., on the
West; Constitution Avenue., N.W., on the South; 13th St., N.W., on the
East and Q St., N.W., on the North. 2) Have private rooms with
kitchenette, bathroom, and television set in good working condition for
eighteen (18) to twenty-two (22) participants. 3) Have a conference
room that can accommodate thirty-five (35) participants, seated at
tables in a U-shaped formation. The conference room shall be available
twenty-four (24) hours a day for the duration of the training event
during the specified dates of the conference and be able to be secured
(locked). 4) Have a working telephone line for local-only connection
in order to contact the Peace Corps office in the conference room.
Peace Corps shall not be billed for local calls from this telephone. 5)
Be equipped withan overhead projector, projection screen, 35mm slide
projector and carrousel, podium with microphone, and television monitor
with video cassette recorder (as needed) in the conference room. 6)
Offer daily breakfast in the facility's dining room. The meal shall be
nutritionally balanced with a selection of hot and cold entrees,
fruit, pastries, juices, coffee, and tea. 7) Provide a continuous
beverage service, which includes water, caffeinated and decaffeinated
coffee, a selection of caffeinated and decaffeinated teas, and juice.
Beverage service must be checked at least twice in the morning and
twice in the afternoon and refreshed as needed. 8) Inform participants
where calling cards can be purchased if hotel guests are charged for
local calls. 9) Provide provision for weekly or as requested linen and
housekeeping services in guest rooms. 10) Provide clothes washing and
drying services including coin-operated laundry machines available
daily for use by all participants. 11) Provide a system whereby
telephoneand fax messages can be left for participants with the hotel
for delivery to participants about appointment schedules and other
matters. 12) Make additional rooms available, should they be needed and
the facility has space. The facility shall provide additional rooms at
the same rate per room bid for those rooms specified in the contract.
13) Provide safety deposit boxes for all guests. Access shall be made
available twenty-four (24) hours per day for the duration of the
participants' stay. 14) Be in compliance with the Hotel and Motel Fire
Safety Act of 1990. 15) The first conference will be held from May 4,
1998, through May 29, 1998. Participants will arrive on or about May
2, 1998, and depart on or about May 31, 1998. 16) This contract shall
include two one year option periods. During each option, an additional
conference will be held on or about May 1999 and May 2000. There will
be a minimum of eighteen (18) participants during each of the
conferences that occurs during the option periods. Those interested in
