Pearson, Contract Specialist, 202-324-2984 This is an intent to award a sole source order for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional informational included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the Government's requirement. This requirement is being issued as Request For Quotation (RFQ) #80086. This order will be issued under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). This is not a small business set aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7011 and the Small Business Size Standard is $5,000,000.00. This will be an all or none firm-fixed-price contract. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with The Pointe Hilton Resort, 7600 North 16th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85020 for the rental of a conference/ training center during the week of July 12 through July 18, 1998. The week of July 12 through 18, 1998 was selected to coincide with the annual convention of the National Technical Investigator's Association. Based on a detailed market survey and contact with the Phoenix, Az Chamber of Commerce it was determined that the Pointe Hilton Resort was the only hotel that can meet the following specifications: A). CONFERENCE ROOM -- approximately 8000 square feet conference room capable of seating 300 individuals in a conference configuration, with ample room to display and demonstrate bulky exhibits during presentations, meeting room must have the capability of being partitioned in half and into fourths for smaller group discussions, B). TRADE SHOW/EXHIBIT AREA -- approximately 6000 to 8000 square feet capable of being partition into smaller rooms; this trade show/exhibit area must be contiguous to the primary conference room for security reasons, C). ADMINISTRATIVE AREA -- approximately 1000 square feet with communication and telephone service, D). PRESENTATIONAL AIDS TO include AT A MINIMUM: ten (10) flip charts, thirty (30), Electrical Hookups, fifteen (15) telephone lines, two (2) 56KB Line, nine (9) Overhead Projectors, three (3) Slide Projectors, nine (9) Screens (70" x 70"), two (2) Screens (10' x 10'), four (4) VCRs, 15 VGA Monitors 27". All areas must be connected and capable of 24 hour lock down for security purposes. The conference room (main and exhibit area) must be isolated from the general public. A hospitality desk or table located on the outside of the conference room is required to provide an added degree of security. The facility must be in close proximity (7 mile radius) to the Phoenix Civic Plaza; Phoenix, Arizona 85004. A Department of Labor Wage Determination is being obtained for this requirement.
