a combined Synopis/Solicitation for commercial items prepared per the
format in Subpart 12, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. Further information upon written request.
Solicitation number for this is RFQ1500-8-0003 ; is a Request for
Quote. The following Provisiions and Clauses are incorporated into this
RFQ by Reference and are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
97-02, December 15, 1997. No addenda apply to these provisions &

FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement
Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial items no additional FAR Clauses
apply. SIC:4952, $5.0 million. NPS REQUIREMENT: The National Park
Service at Mount Rushmore National Memorial intendsto purchase one
integrated, pressurized multi-bag sludge dewatering unit. The unit
shall be capable of automatically performing the following cyclic
functions: Polymer wetting and mechanically mixing in a 90 gallon
polyethylene solution container with wetting funnel. The polymer
solution shall be injected into the sludge stream by a 1.6 gpm capacity
diaphragm metering pump. Sludge shall be pumped by a MOYNO Model 367
progressive cavity pump with belt driven pully speed reduction
capability. Sludge and polymer solution shall be mixed in an internal
static mixing unit. The 6 bag dewatering unit shall be of 304 SS
construction and include a pressure rated hood connected to filter bag
supporting funnels. Bags, with hinged containment cages, shall attach
to the funnels with clasps. A lower pan shall support the bags and
collect drainage. For enhanced water removal, the unit shall air
pressurize the filter bag head space to 2 psi via a pre-mounted rotary
vane compressor mounted within a fiberglass enclosure.System controls
shall include all necessary NEMA 4X electrical panels, starters,level
sensors, control switches, air relief valves, timers, etc. necessary
for automatic, cyclic filling, pressurizing, and draining until all
bags are full. All supplies and consumables for 8 months of continuous
operation at a solids loading rate of 250 pounds per day (dry weight)
shall be provided. To accommodate future system expansion, the unit
shall be delivered in a condition to fully facilitate simplified future
addition of a 6 bag extension to double unit capacity. Delivery shall
be completed by May 5, 1998. The factory assembled and skid mounted
unit shall include a 12 month unconditional guarantee of all parts and
