This acquisition is for two each Computed Dental Radiography /Intraoral Camera Systems, manufactured by Schick Technologies, 31-00 47th Ave., Long Island, NY 11101, 888-472-4425. This is an approved sole source/brand acquisition action as authorized by AFFAR SUPP 5313.106 under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, based on the need for a system with three sensors that allows the dentist to take pedodontic x-rays, standard bitewings, and periapical radiographs. System also reduces patients' exposure to radiation by 50-90% and produces almost immediate image. A standard x-ray takes approximately 6 minutes to get, while Shick's image is on screen in 8 seconds. It also has a built in intraoral camera, which will be used for a tobacco cessation program and numerous preventive dentistry educationalprograms. No Request for Quote (RFQ) package will be issued.
