R -- FILE MAINTENANCE REPOSITORIES SUPPORT SERVICES SOL 52PAPT800014 POC Dora Sanders (703) 305-8465 This is a preliminary presolicitation notice of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's (PTO) plans to acquire File Maintenance Support Services at the Repositories. These services include, but are not limited to, filing and retrieval of all patent and trademark related files and miscellaneous documents, delivery service, and repository records maintenance. The PTO anticipates the period of performance of this acquisition to be for a one-year base period, and four, one-year option periods. The acquisition will be available for Competition among qualified small business concerns only. The small business competitive acquisition will be classified under Standard Industrial Classification Code 8744. This acquisition will be conducted using a new streamlined acquisition process described in a document entitled "Department of Commerce Acquisition Process Case for Change" which may be found on the Internet at http://www.doc.gov/oam/conops. The intent of this new process is to provide an improved acquisition environment which will benefit both the vendor community and the Government. As part of this process, a Project Agreement will be made available on the Internet at, http://www.uspto.doc.gov/go/proc/conops, on or about, March 5, 1998. In accordance with this acquisition process, the Project Agreement will serve as the solicitation document for this requirement. Interested parties must respond to the Project Agreement in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. This is a preliminary presolicitation notice; therefore, responses to this notice are not required at this time. In accordance with FAR 14.205-1(a), electronic commerce methods will be used to transmit the Project Agreement; therefore, a solicitation mailing list will not be established.
