Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Solid Waste (OSW) desires
Industrial Solid and Hazardous Waste Characterization Support for the
Waste Identification Branch, the Generator and Recycling Branch and the
International and Special Projects Branch. Under this procurement, the
contractor will provide technical support to assist the Agency in
completing hazardous waste listing determinations and defining
hazardous waste characteristics; developing the hazardous waste
identification rule; reviewing petitions and supporting rules for
excluding or exempting wastes; and developing rules and reports
pertaining to the definition of solid waste, medical waste, used oil,
waste generation and transportation, universal wastes, the
international and special projects waste management initiatives, and
the export and import of solid and hazardous wastes. The anticipated
release date for the Request for Proposals (RFP) is on or before March
26, 1998. The anticipated level-of-effort provides for a one-year base
period of 47,700 direct labor hours in the base quantity, with optional
quantities potentially totaling 5,700 direct labor hours; a one-year
Option Period 1 base quantity of 47,700 direct labor hours, with
optional quantities potentially totaling 5,700 direct labor hours; and
a one-year Option Period 2 base quantity of 47,700 direct labor hours,
with optional quantities potentially totaling 5,700 direct labor. The
total potential level-of-effort is 160,200 direct labor hours. The
purpose of this CBD announcement is to notify potential offerors of
EPA's requirement, generate the source list, and to direct interested
parties to the EPA's "Doing Business with EPA" Internet World Wide Web
site (http://www.epa.gov/oam/srpod)for further information on this
procurement as it becomes available. Interested parties must forward
requests to be placed on the source list to the Contracting Officer
either via Internet E-mail as stated below, via facsimile to (202)
565-2557, or to the mailing address that follows: U.S. EPA, 401 M St.
SW, Superfund/RCRA Regional Procurement Operations Division,
Headquarters Contract Service Center,(3805R), Washington, DC
20460-0001, ATTN: Kristin S. Wright. In an effort to streamline the
procurement process, and to utilize the Internet and electronic
communications to the maximum extent possible, the subject RFP,
amendments and other related items for this procurement will be posted
on the EPA Office of Acquisition Management's (OAM) homepage, under
the area entitled "Doing Business with EPA." Also posted on the
Internet will be an ongoing status update to inform interested parties
of current information related to the procurement. Potential offerors
are requested to download the RFP and amendments from this internet
location rather than requesting hard copies from this office. If an
offeror does not have the capability to access this information on the
Internet, they are asked to submit written certification of this fact,
via E-Mail or FAX to the Contracting Officer. Only those companies
