The work includes the construction of two (2) reinforced concrete stair towers at north and south ends of Building 2006. Work incidental to the stairs shall be cutting of masonry walls for installation of exit doors, installation of a sprinkler main and riser, electrical work and mechanical removal of heating units. The projected date of availability of solicitation is 20 March 1998. The projected bid opening date is 22 April 1998. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick up a copy of the plans of specifications at the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction, Building 2004, Quantico, VA. The hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no charge for these documents; however, there will be only one set issued per contractor. Requests for plans and specifications and bidder's list should be made separately to avoid confusion. This also applies to requests for numerous solicitations.
