The US Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, Columbia MD 21045-0701, will issue solicitation #232098-98-A-0034 on or about February 24, 1998. The work includes but is not limited to the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for the conversion of an existing State Emissions Center to a United States Postal Service Vechicle Maintenance Facility. The work will involve the replacement of site perimeter fencing, the installation of a site entrance security system, clearing a portion of the site of brush, and reconfiguration of a few interior spaces. The relocation of interior prefabricated structures and associated guard rail. New shower and locker facilities. Modifying existing overhead doors. The modification and additition of new HVAC systems, controls, plumbing and vehicle lifts, hydraulic lubrication systems, and an interior vechicle washing facitlity. Modification of various electrical items including receptacles, lighting fixtures and panelboards. Installation of a telecommunciation system, gas monitoring system and a security system. Offeror must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a General contractor and must have satisfactorily completed at least three (3) projects of similar size and scope. A preproposal conference has been scheduled for March 9, 1998 at 1:00 pm at Northeast VMF, 4300 Clarissa St, Philadelphia PA 19140-9998. The estimated price range is between $875,000 and $950,000 with completion required within 240 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
