DAAD05) The U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command (CBDCOM),
Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland has a one-year requirement with two
option years to procure chemical encapsulation suits. The Government is
seeking a requirements contract that will allow utilization of various
Chemical Depot's throughout all of the Department of Defense to place
order against the resulting award of this solicitation. Specific
delivery and quantity requirements will be determined from independent
delivery orders that will be issued to the contractor from various DOD
locations. The requested suits are required to support the Hazard
Assessment Program along with future toxic environmental emergency
responses for CBDCOM and other sites that store chemical warfare agents
(CWA). These suits are necessary for personnel to perform isolation
procedures in immediate chemically dangerous atmospheres, for entrance
to inspect the chemically unknowns, and to respond to a variety of
emergency operations should an accident/incident involving CWA's occur.
Specific requirements for these suits are that they be reuseable and be
currently approved by the Department of the Army Safety Office. The
suits must be totally encapsulated and compatible with air respirators
that are manufactured by Trellborg. Government market research has
found that the Trellchem High Performance Suits from Trellborg are the
only suits adapted to fit the current assets of government-owned self-
contained breathing apparatus and exceeds the National Fire Protection
Association 1991 standards. To ensure compliance of DA Safety
regulations and suit reusability requirements the suits requested are
Trellchem High Performance Suits from Trellborg. For a copy of the
