The NAWCAD Materials Division at Patuxent River, MD intends to procure a Automated Crack Growth System to perform testing of materials. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate the proposed requirement on a SOLE SOURCE BASIS with Fracture Technology Associates (FTA) Inc., 2001 Stonesthrow Road, Bethlehem, PA. This system is one of four sub-systems under the High Vacuum-High Temperature Test System (HVHT). Solicitation number N00421-98-Q-1062 is hereby issued at a Request For Quote (RFQ). This new requirement will be using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and will be a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order to be delivered to the NAWCAD Becker Laboratory at Patuxent River, MD. FTA is the only manufacturer capable of providing the Potential Drop Method of crack measurement needed for high temperature crack length measurement and is compatible with existing test equipment.
