This is a modification to a previously-published synopsis, cite number D-049 SN169710, posted on 18 Feb 98. Offerors are required to respond to this notice by providing within their offers, written acknowledgment and acceptance of the changes set forth below. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N00140-98-R-1165 applies. Offerors are notified that the solicitation is hereby changed to read as follows: "The Base Period will be the period from 15 Mar 98 or date of award, whichever is later, to 30 Sep 98. Option I will be the period from 1 Oct 98 through 30 Sep 99, Option II the period from 1 Oct 99 through 30 Sep 00, and Option III the period from 1 Oct 00 through 30 Sep 01, for a total time period if all options are exercised not to exceed 43 months." Offerors are notified that the solicitation is hereby changed to read as follows: "OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT (FAR 52.217-9) (MAR 1989) (a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor within 30 days of contract expiration, provided, that the Government shall give the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 30 days before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension. (b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended contract shall be considered to include this option provision. (c) The total duration of this contract, including the exercise of any options under this clause, shall not exceed 43 months." Offerors are also notified that the following is incorporated by reference and is included as part of the DFARS 252.212-7001 addendum: "252.219-7006 Notice of Evaluation Preference for Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns". In addition to the above, the closing date is hereby extended to 9 Mar 98, with a closing time of 4:00 p.m., local Philadelphia time.
