The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the construction of an addition to building 235 at the NIST campus located in Gaithersburg, MD. The addition is a single story structure with a built-up roof and partial basement and will contain twenty-five offices, two laboratories, and restrooms. The exterior is primarily brick and metal construction. An invitation for bid is being solicited. The period of performance will be 330 days after the Government's notice to proceed. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This requirement is a 100% set-aside for small business concerns with average annual receipts not exceeding $17,000,000 during the preceding three years. See number Note 1. The SIC Code is 1542. All responsible small business concerns may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency. Please note that the presolicitation notice published for this effort on February 12, 1998 erroneously stated that there is no charge for the solicitation documents. This is corrected to state that there will be a charge which will be specified in the invitation for bid. Please request copies of the invitation for bid in writing. The construction plans are available for inspection without charge at the NIST campus. (0054)
