Wallace, Contract Specialist, (202) 874-7126 The Financial Management Service (FMS) intends to procure patented ink jet cartridges (Patent Number DES 327,291) from Troy, Inc. of Santa Anna, CA. The cartridges are for use on Troy CFO480 Checkprint equipment utilized by FMS at its Regional Financial Centers. This procurement will cover the estimated requirement for the base period beginning in October 1998 through September 30, 1999 with two option years. The ink jet cartridges are required to supply a non-smudging ink onto envelopes using Post Net Bar Code Printers developed and manufactured by Troy, Inc. for the CFO480 Checkprint equipment. Additionally, the cartridges shall print bar codes onto, at minimum 100,000 envelopes with sufficient clarity, positioning, and reflectance to be read by the US Postal Service's bar code readers. The cartridges shall be compatible with the physical configuration of the Post Net Bar Code Printer and function by utilizing existing proprietary software owned by Troy, Inc. Copies of the solicitation will not be furnished to vendors who have not provided technical capability statements. No telephone requests for copies of the RFP will be honored. Note 22 applies.
