B -- ANALYSES OF HELIUM-3 IN SEAWATER SOL NRMGD000801083JAS DUE 033098 POC Jackie Shewmaker, 816-426-7129, ext. 221 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to solicit for the analyses of Helium-3 in seawater for the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratories (AOML) in Miami, Florida. This acquisition is being conducted pursuant to the guidelines set forth in FAR part 13. Eightyanalyses of the isotope helium-3 in seawater are requested for determination of air-sea gas transfer velocities and dispersion in seawater tracer studies. The following is required for this purchase: The facility must provide the copper sampling tubes with stainless steel pinch-off clamps for sampling; The facility must have a proven record of analyzing Helium-3 samples ranging in "delta" Helium-3 concentration from -40 to 5000 per mill; From -40 per mill to 150 per mill the precision must be 0.3% or better, and higher concentrations the precision must be 1%; The facility must be able to analyze the samples within 1/2 year of delivery. The samples will be delivered to the facility in the following time frame: 80 samples from the FSLE experiment will be delivered about July 1, 1998. The estimated cost of this acquisition is less than $100,000. This requirement is not set-aside for small businesses. A copy of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be available on or about March 13, 1998. All requests for the RFQ must be submitted in writing. Requests may be faxed to (816) 426-5067.
