The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Mt. Weather Emergency Assistance Center (MWEAC), Bluemont, VA intends to negotiate with Amercian Mobile Satellite Corp. (AMSC), Reston, VA to provide a Wireless Fixed Site Multi-Channel System. The system's purpose is to provide FEMA the capability of developing a rapidly deployable telephone system capable of providing multiple telephone lines (up to 8) to a disaster response effort/facility. FEMA is currently utilizing mobile satellite services from AMSC for communications in support of disaster related missions. The multi-channel system must be interoperable w/the existing AMSC network. Equipment to be purchased: F-1000MC Series Fixed Site Multi-Channel System, including 4 transceiver panels, fixed site 1.2 meter antenna kit, and peripheral cables. Interested persons may respond by identifying their capability to provide the required multi-channel system to include descriptive literature and pricing, as well as being compatible w/the existing AMSC network. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by the date identified above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
