The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport has a requirement for acquisition of two (2) each L6-P amplifiers with EC5-C environmental boxes and precision monitors and two (2) each EC5-C environmental boxes. The power amplifier system being acquired is to be integrated with existing equipment as part of the AN/WQM-8. The government intends to award a sole source contract to Instruments, Inc. on a firm fixed price basis using FAR Part 12, due to the fact that this item must be compatible and interchangeable with existing power amplifier equipment that is presently incorporated in existing AN/WQM-8 systems. Specific parameters that require compatibility are: power output, input impedance, input voltage, output impedance, duty cycle, total harmonic distortion, load power factor range, frequency range, RMS, noise and over load protection. Delivery will be F.O.B. destination, Newport, RI on or about 1 June 98. A written request for quote including the statement of work will be released on or about 02MAR 98 to all offerors that submit a written request for a copy of the solicitation.
