72 -- PURCHASE/INSTALLATION CARPET IN DORMITORIES SOL F64133-98-Q0154 DUE 031398 POC SSgt. Willoughby at (671) 366-6612 and AIC Lucas at (671) 366-4681 or fax at (671) 366-1103 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Description: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items or services necessary to provide and install carpet in various dormitories at Andersen AFB, Guam. Offerors must bid on the following items: LINE ITEM 0001 -- Provide/Install carpet (to include floor preparation, glue removal, removal of existing rubber moldings between carpet and floor tile, etc.). Estimated quantity -- 7,550 SY. Carpet specifications -- Manufacturer: Shaw Carpets; Line: Market Streets; Style: Laurel Falls #50267; Color: Jadesheen #67365; or equal. LINE ITEM 0002 -- Remove base cove and existing thresholds. Estimated quantity -- 19900 LF. LINE ITEM 0003 -- Provide/Install base cove (to include installation around entire wall-floor joint of rooms, under vanities, lockers, and desks using approved adhesive, and use of squared internal and rounded external corners in appropriate matching trim units). Estimated quantity -- 15780 LF. Cove specifications -- 1/8" thick X 4" high base cove molding. LINE ITEM 0004 -- Provide/Install thresholds metal (to include installation between carpet and bathroom tile floors, flush and without gaps between door jambs and floor surfaces). Estimated quantity -- 199 EA. Threshold metal specifications -- Standard 3' length similar to existing. LINE ITEM 0005 -- Purchase/Install threshold rubber (to include installation between all tile floors and carpet (except at bathrooms), smooth and flush mitered corner joints, and continuous pieces for each section). Estimated quantity -- 5025 LF. Threshold rubber specifications -- 1/2" wide rubber molding strips. Carpet shall be installed in the following Andersen AFB dormitories: Bldgs. 25009, 25011, 25016, 25017, and 27003. Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and commercial practices. Standard commercial warranties apply to this acquisition. Offerors are highly encouraged to attend project site visit to be held on 9 Mar 98 at 0900 at Bldg. 17000, Room 17, Andersen AFB. Contractor shall submit samples of commercial grade carpet in 12" X 18" pieces, base cove molding in available colors, rubber molding strips in available colors, metal thresholds, adhesives, seaming plan, glue removal method and installation method. The Government requires installation to be complete within 60 days from the date of award. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and will be awarded on an 'all or none' basis. This procurement is set-aside for small businesses. The Standard Industrial Classification Code utilized is 5713, and the small business size standard is $5 million in annual average gross revenues for the last 3 fiscal years. The Defense Priority Rating for this acquisition is DO. Offerors must bid on all line items to be considered responsive.
