Contractor shall provide maintenance to the PHI 6300 Quadrupole SIMS and the PHI 660 Scanning Auger Microprobe for the period of one year. It is intended to award this contract to Physical Electronics Inc., Eden Prairie, MN on a sole source basis. Due to the complex and proprietary nature of the mechanical and electrical systems employed in the PHI 6300 and PHI 660 it is necessary to have the equipment manufacturer provide service on the instrumentation. The manufacturer, Physical Electronics Inc., is the only resource that has instant access to exclusive design information and a large inventory of components that can be counted on to quickly and reliably repair or replace the proprietary components and circuitry within the systems.
