solicited for micro-computer hardware maintenance at Carlisle Barracks
PA. The primarily focus is approximately 2,000 plus desk top and 600
laptop computers, with 1800 monitors, 700 printers, 50 Scanners and
other accessories. The client machines run Windows 95, Window NT
Workstation, and are networked to Windows NT Servers. Some local area
network hardware equipment may be included. Proposal pricing and work
methods will not be rigidly pre-formatted by the government. For
example, there may be both fixed price and/or time and material line
items. Multiple technical proposals will be allowed. A on-site, help
desk operation will be required. The contractor will be expected to
provide warranty interface with the different manufacturers. The
successful contractor should have a existing local maintenance
organization from which experienced labor can be made available,
ensuring timely on-site performance. This work was previously performed
by military personnel and by time and material contract. A security
clearance may be required. The period of performance will be base year
starting 1 October 1998 and one option year ending 30 September 2000
(two years). This procurement is 100% set aside for small business, SIC
code 7379, $18 Million. Bid opening date is estimated and dependent on
the actual issue date. A site visit/preproposal conference will be
held shortly after the issue date. Reasonable offeror ideas will be
