This is a correction to the CBD notice entitled, INSTALL TEN TON A/C
UNIT, BLDG. 2600, published in the CBD on 23 Feb 98. This acquisition
includes three HVAC projects: 1) Installation of a Ten Ton A/C unit in
Bldg. 2600 to make a workable system to include but not be limited to
the following: Demolition of an existing drop ceiling and ductwork (to
include testing and removal of hazardous materials as required);
installation of (1) new (10) ton roof-mounted A/C unit; roof repair
incident to unit installation; installation of unit controls;
installation of new ductwork; installation of a new drop ceiling;
installation of batt insulation between ceiling and roof; balancing of
the system to maintain even airflow and maintain a constant
temperature. 2) Installation of two roof-mounted HVAC systems in Bldg
3510 to make a workable system to include but not limited to the
following: Installation of (1) new (2) Ton gas/electric unit and (1)
new (3) Ton gas/ electric unit; roof repair incident to unit
installation; temporary removal of existing room T-Bar systems;
installation of batt insulation between the roof and T-Bar system;
reinstallation of room T-Bar systems; hazardous component testing and
abatement as required; installation of fuel supply system, heat
distribution system and heat transfer system; installation of
electrical service and wiring; removal of existing conduit and wiring
from previous swamp coolers; installation of HVAC controls and
instrumentation; System testing, adjustment and balancing. 3) Install
a hot water re-heat coil into an existing AHU to make a workable system
to include but not limited to: installation of re-heat coil;
installation of copper piping and connections; insulation of piping;
performance of hydronics balancing on the system. The performance
period for the three projects is expected to be approximately 150
calendar days. The solicitation will be issued through the Internet at
HTTP://AFFTC_PK.ELAN.AF.MIL/SCRIPTS/XINDEX.ASP. All notifications of
changes to this solicitation shall be made through the Internet only.
It is therefore the contractors responsibility to check the Internet
address listed above daily, for the initial issuance of the
solicitation as well as any posted changes to this solicitation.
Notifications of Amendments will also be made by e-mail. The
solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format; however,
the Government reserves the right to revert to paper or computer medium
when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. All bids
and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including
amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium.
Electronic medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed.
Specific questions related to this project must be submitted in
writing to AFFTC/PKAC, ATTN: Cynthia Keim, 5 S. Wolfe Ave. Edwards AFB,
CA 93524-1185 or by FAX to (805)275-7851. The solicitation will be
issued on or about 11 Mar 98 with a 15 day bid period. A site visit for
all (3) projects is scheduled for Tuesday, 17 Mar 98 at 9:00 am.
Contractors should meet at Bldg 2800 on S. Wolfe Ave, Edwards AFB, CA.
Special access procedures apply to visit the project #3 site.
Contractors must pre-register if they want to tour this site. The
following information is required to AFFTC/PKAC by 12 Mar 98 for
pre-registration purposes: Name, Address, Social Security number, Place
of birth and a copy of naturalization papers if necessary. A photo ID
is also required. The magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and
$100,000. This acquisition is unrestricted full and open competition.
Bids will be solicited on a firm-fixed price basis. Payment protection
will be required in the form of either an irrevocable letter of credit
or a payment bond. The SIC code is 1711 with a size standard of $17
million over the past three years. All contractors interested in
receiving a copy of the solicitation must register on the INTERNET at
the site referenced above. Those registering are responsible for the
accuracy of the information on the mailing list. Registration must
include the firms physical address, telephone number, fax number,
e-mail address, and a point of contact. Registration should be
completed one week prior to the issue date. Telephone requests to be
