This acquisition is for 5 KW/28 VDC Auxiliary Power Units (APU's), NSN: 6115-01-452-6513 that are mounted on and used on the M577 and M1068 Armored Command Post Vehicle. This is a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with a period of performance of eight (8) years. There will be a minimum and maximum quantities with delivery orders issued for quantities required. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, a noncompetitive negotiation, with Goodman Ball, Inc., Menlo Park, Calif. Goodman Ball has successfully completed Phase I, IIA and IIB of a multiphase program and is the only source who has the technical institutional knowledge and experience to enter into Phase III for full production.
